Realtor Code of Ethics
Although the term "realtor" has become, for some people, the same as "real estate agent", not all real estate licensees are REALTORS. The REALTOR name and logo are registered trademarks of the National Association of REALTORS. When a company or an agent join the association, they take an oath: to protect individual property rights, to build their knowledge and competence in their chosen profession, real estate, and to adhere to a strict code of conduct. That conduct, referred to as the Realtors Code of Ethics, guides the REALTOR'S interactions with both consumers and their fellow REALTORS. When you select a REALTOR, you know you are working with someone who has agreed to a higher standard of conduct than someone who merely posseses a real estate license.
